
We are honored to welcome Professor Florence Padovani as the keynote speaker for our upcoming conference. Professor Padovani is an Associate Professor at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, specializing in China studies. She is also a Researcher at the French Centre for Research on Contemporary China (CEFC) in Hong Kong and affiliated with PRODIG UMR 8685 in Paris.
Professor Padovani is currently conducting research on Intangible Cultural Heritage in Shaanxi province and Hong Kong, continuing her long-term focus on Chinese urban development, migration, and social transformation. After studying Chinese language at Paris 7 university, she earned her PhD from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in 1996. In 2018, she wrote a new thesis focusing on the life experiences of Three Gorges Dam migrants and received, from Paris 1 University, the highest degree from the French academic system: habilitation to direct PhD students (HDR).
Professor Padovani previously served as Director of the Sino-French Centre (CFC) at Tsinghua University (2018 – 2021) and has taught at several institutions including the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences. Her latest publications include two special issues of China Perspectives dedicated to Cultural Intangible Heritage in Mainland China and Hong Kong (2021 and 2023), the co-edited volume “Living in the Margins in Mainland China, Hong Kong and India” (with Wing Chung Ho, 2020), “Development-induced Migration in India and China: A Comparative Look at the Burdens of Growth” (2016), and numerous scholarly articles on Chinese urban development, Three Gorges migration, and intangible cultural heritage.

傅闌思教授現正從事陝西省和香港的非物質文化遺產研究,持續關注中國城市發展、人口遷移與社會轉型。她早年於法國高等社會科學研究院(EHESS)獲得博士學位,2018年,獲巴黎第一大學授予研究指導資格(HDR),研究主題為三峽移民的生活經歷。
傅闌思教授曾任清華大學中法中心(CFC)主任,並在香港中文大學、上海社會科學院等機構任教。其研究成果包括她分別於2021年和2023年發佈於國際期刊“China Perspectives”的兩期專刊,專題探討中國大陸和香港的非物質文化遺產;另有專著 “Living in the Margins in Mainland China, Hong Kong and India”(與何榮宗合編,2020年)、“Development-induced Migration in India and China: A Comparative Look at the Burdens of Growth”(2016年)等,以及多篇關於中國城市發展、三峽移民和非物質文化遺產的學術論文。
